DETECT SchoolsThe DETECT-Schools Study was launched in May 2020 as a partnership between the WA Government Departments of Education and Health with The Kids Research Institute Australia.
Our Child Health Analytics Team uses cutting-edge technologies to better understand how and why the health and wellbeing of children varies from place to place. We develop innovative geospatial methods that can harness large, complex datasets to pinpoint hotspots of elevated risk, evaluate change through time, and explore underlying drivers.

Antimicrobial Resistance in Enterobacterales, Acinetobacter spp. and Pseudomonas aeruginosa Isolates From Bloodstream Infections in Australian Children, 2013–2021Gram-negative bloodstream infections are associated with significant morbidity and mortality in children. Increasing antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is reported globally, yet efforts to track pediatric AMR at a national level over time are lacking.

Researchers are exploring the mental wellbeing of mothers and their experience of motherhood and pregnancy, and effective support options available. Mental health development of the child is also explored, as well as the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on our ORIGINS families.

We assessed whether a birth dose may impair immunoglobulin G (IgG) responses to childhood pertussis boosters.
